Family Therapy

Sometimes family patterns can be the toughest to notice and shake up.

I work with adult family members (18+) to encourage honest expression and deepen trust in the family system. While this often means folks who are directly related and grew up in the same household, “family” therapy may also extend to chosen families and nontraditional dynamics, including co-parents, friendships, and roommates.

Who I work with

I work with:

  • Adult family members, 18+

  • Families of origin

  • Chosen families

  • Co-parents

  • Friendships

  • Roommates

  • Other nontraditional family systems

Common reasons to seek family therapy

  • Long-standing conflict

  • Communication breakdowns

  • Difficulty expressing needs

  • Trust

  • Repeating roles

  • Major transitions

  • Estrangement or distance

  • Old patterns that remain active in the present

What sessions may feel like

Family therapy with me is direct, curious, respectful, and non-pathologizing. I work to create enough safety for each person to speak honestly while also making room for the complexity of everyone’s experience.

Sessions may involve slowing down familiar interactions, noticing roles or assumptions, and exploring what is happening beneath the surface. The goal is not to assign blame, but to better understand the system you are part of and create more flexible, connected ways forward.
